Why use an e-portfolio?

Training providers working with learners through Train to Gain (and other workplace assessment schemes such as Apprenticeships) are increasingly finding that the use of technology can offer benefits of flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and improvements to the assessment process.

Train to Gain learners are engaged in obtaining a qualification whilst in employment. They need to provide evidence of the required skills and knowledge, often in workplace settings. An e-portfolio is a place where they can collect and present this evidence digitally and have their qualifications assessed and verified. Learners can demonstrate skills and knowledge in context - and often offer a greater range of evidence for assessment than in a paper portfolio.

How has this site been developed?

The Which E-portfolio website has been developed with funding and support from the LSC Eastern region Train to Gain team and the Association of Colleges in the Eastern Region (ACER).
